Cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 2A (melanoma, p16, inhibits CDK4). Cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 2A interacts strongly with cdk4 and cdk6. It belongs to the cdkn2 family of cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors, and plays role in cyclins and cell cycle regulation.CDKN2A acts as a negative regulator of the proliferation of normal cells by interacting strongly with CDK4 and CDK6. This interaction inhibits CDKs binding to cyclins D and phosphorylation of the retinoblastoma protein. Defects in CDKN2A are the cause of numerous cancers such as melanoma and astrocytoma.
p16 Polyclonal Antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This antibody has been tested with WB and ELISA. And Abbkine suggested starting dilutions are as follows: WB: 1:500-1:2000, ELISA: 1:10000. Not yet tested in other applications.
CDKN2A is frequently mutated or deleted in a wide variety of tumors, and is known to be an important tumor suppressor gene. It applies to WB and ELISA experiments. It's convenient to choose this product.
